Lunar lenses up for auction: the pictures and videos shot by lunar mission of "Apollon-15"

Recently we wrote that one of the photolenses used by astronauts of mission of "Apollon-15" is exposed at the Boston RR Auction auction. Experts of auction have estimated lot cost approximately
at $400 000 - $600 000, its starting price has been quoted in $50 000. Rates will be accepted a week more — till April 21 for now we suggest to get acquainted with several pictures made it (and not only) a lens during one of the most successful lunar missions from the scientific point of view. The complete collection of pictures has been published "by archive of the project Apollo" in October, 2015.

The space module of mission "Apollon-15", "Indevor", started from the spaceport of the Space center of Kennedy on July 26, 1971. The way to a lunar orbit has taken slightly more than three days, and landing of the lunar module has happened on July 30. On its board were the commander of crew — David Scott and the pilot of the lunar module James Irvin. Alfred Uorden, the third crew member, remained at the same time on the orbital module.

.

In the amount two crew members have spent slightly more than 67 hours on the Moon. At the same time astronauts for the first time used the lunar car for movements on a surface. In total astronauts four times left the lunar module, during this time it was succeeded to collect 77 kilograms of lunar soil and stones, to carry out the drilling operations (which were followed, however, by serious difficulties with drills) and to pass nearly 28 kilometers.
It is interesting to note that before flying away David Scott has shown on the camera "experience Galilee", having shown that in the absence of the atmosphere both the feather, and the hammer fall with an identical speed. On an arrival of NASA called "Apollon-15" of the most successful of the taken place lunar missions.
